As
well as countless advertising contracts for such clients as Möet &
Chandon, Nestlé and LU, Mucha created the concept of the ‘decorative
panel’ – a series of themed works which could be bought by ordinary people
to decorate their homes.
Throughout his life Mucha
felt it was his duty as an artist to promote art for ordinary people. His
timeless images of beautiful young women encircled by decorative motifs
are as fresh and attractive now as they were nearly 100 years ago, when
Mucha first made them.
